A real Sustainable tourism experience!
Located 75km from Kongola, Nkasa Lupala tented lodge is built on the banks of one of the channels of the Kwando-Linyanti River system. This unique Namibian wetland paradise in the Zambezi Region (Caprivi), is commonly known as Mamili and was recently renamed Nkasa Rupara National Park. The lodge was conceived as the perfect location for visitors to view wildlife in an entirely natural wetland habitat and finding that delicate balance between providing all the facilities to offer guests the highest standard of comfort, luxury and service, whilst minimizing the impact on the environment. The Park’s huge population of wildlife is free to roam in and amongst the unfenced Lodge grounds and buildings.
By creating a human environment on stilts, Nkasa Lupala allows its guests the most amazing opportunities to watch animals at close quarters in total safety, without harming or unduly disturbing the creatures themselves.
The spacious main buildings are stunningly designed to complement their surroundings, blending perfectly into the landscape. Wherever possible, they have been constructed using locally sourced materials in a style which reflects traditional African building techniques. The Lodge is solar powered, and all possible measures are taken to minimize disruption of the environment, to prevent pollution and to protect the local flora and fauna.
Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge is a joint venture between the private sector and the Wuparo Conservancy that is part of the successful and award-winning Namibian conservancies program followed by IRDNC and WWF. At Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge be ready to experience a true sustainable holiday.
The Lodge is part of the Wild Waters Lodges which is a sustainable tourism orientated umbrella company comprised of 3 award-winning Lodges & Camps (Serondela Lodge, Nkasa Lupala Tented Lodge & Jackalberry Tented Camp). By providing exceptional safari experiences we are able to partially fund the protection and preservation of pristine land and existing wildlife populations, not to mention help create economic independence within local communities surrounding the lodges and camps.
Travellers choose to stay at our lodges because of the exclusive and wild locations, limited guest and vehicle numbers, extraordinarily consistent game viewing and the exceptional care that is taken of each guest during their stay. Guests staying at Serondela Lodge, Nkasa Lupala Tented Camp or Jackalberry camp are being transformed for a lifetime and having made a contribution to the legacy of Africa.
